UK based advanced document solutions and outsourcing service providers, who are the global leaders are helping clients across more than 50 countries to automate and simplify their information processes and to create significant cost reductions.
In 2005 they were undergoing significant growth and headcounts were growing rapidly. Developer rates were increasing exponentially and they were unable to find affordable quality resources. It became a cause of worry for the senior management as it was risky in terms of maintaining a large permanent headcount. Using contractors proved to be costly and often not feasible as it took several months for a contractor to become fully effective , only to leave after 6 months. They needed a much more flexible and cost effective resource pool and to better manage their peaks and troughs.
The service providers turned to IQSS who were able to provide both the flexibility and cost effectiveness they were looking for. Initially two senior developers were brought to the UK for training on their products. They performed some changes alongside their UK team, returning to Bangalore to work full-time exclusively for them through the Staff Augmentation model. This was successful and the team grew to a peak of 27 across two departments – Business Services and Product Development. Teams have been based in UK, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Ireland and India. Six years later, the senior developers are still working exclusively for them and the relationship has developed into a managed service model.
The relationship began as a trial to prove IQSS could deliver both locally and remotely. The managed service model has enhanced the relationship providing services including Product Development, Application Development, Maintenance and 1st/2nd/3rd line Support.
