The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) is a multidimensional peacekeeping operation comprised of military, police and civilian personnel. Its mandate is to assist the Government of Liberia in the consolidation of peace and stability and in the protection of civilians.

The problem

UNMIL needed Aircraft Planning and Scheduling software to oversee and manage flight planning and scheduling activities for 30(fixed and rotary wing) aircrafts. This application will provide the users quick access to aircraft schedule and plane from anywhere.

The solution

IQSS developed a web based Flight Planning and Scheduling System providing facilities to define aircrafts, airports, airfield/helipads, flights and schedules. The system will run on either a single personal computer or in a network environment, including support for remote sites. The Main Module enables most flight departments to create a trip, schedule aircraft and crew, organize complete trip logistics, and manage all postflight record-keeping and expenses. The developed solution has the following main modules:

  • Database Module
  • Preflight Module
  • Postflight Module
  • Utilities Module

In addition to successful deployment, we also provided initial, on-the-ground training, for all users. We also carried out ongoing, responsive assistance through our remote support team.
